Independent Reading Response #11

Harry told his cousin’s family to leave their house because Voldemort will kill them. At first they didn’t strongly want to leave because they never believe in wizard and magician. When it’s time to leave the house, Harry knows that this will be the last chance to see them but he didn’t feel anything. However, Dudley Dursley who always bullies Harry suddenly brings his hand in front of Harry and says “See you again” and Harry feels something warm inside.

This made me really surprised. I never thought Dudley has manner like this. He had kept bullying Harry and always done what Harry doesn’t want. It thought Dudley is fat like big pig and greedy boy. I hated “Mr. Bully” until I read that part. Only one action and one word changed not only Harry’s thought but also mine too.

Independent Reading Response#10

I started reading new book named “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. This is the final story for Harry Potter series. Why I chose this book is that I had read all series except last one and I had heard that one of the three main characters, Harry, Ron, Hermione, are going to die. I’m really curious who’s going to die. I prefer that Voldemort who’s enemy for Harry will be killed by Harry and there will be a happy ending.

Independent Reading Response #9

I finished reading Angels in Pink Kathleen’s story. The end of the story, Kathleen’s mother had operation. Before her mother had operated, they talked about what would happen. Her mother told her that if she died, Carson’s parents would take care of Kathleen.

When I read this, I was thinking why Kathleen’s mother told Kathleen that Carson’s parents would take care of her. I thought Kathleen’s mother and Carson’s parents don’t know each other and even though Carson and Kathleen are couple, they are still young so they might break up in the future. If I were Kathleen’s mother, I would cousin to take care of Kathleen because they know her since she’s a baby.

I think you want to know the result after Kathleen’s mother took an operation. I know the end of the story but I’m not going to tell you what happened in the end. If you want to know it, you should read this book and there are 2 more series, so I would like to read them someday.

Independent Reading Response #8

Now, it’s almost end of the story. After Kathleen had dinner with Carson and his family, she went back to home and she found her mother was lying on the floor with no breath. Later, an ambulance came and pick her mother’s up to bring at hospital.

When I read this, it reminds me when I was about 7 years old. On that time, my grandfather had cancer and there was no way to cure it. He was allowed to stay at home because he said he wanted to stay at home as much as he can. And one day, I don’t really know what happened to my grandfather because I was sleeping in the morning but the siren of ambulance woke me up. I ran to the front door of my house and I saw the ambulance with red-light. Then my grandfather was carried into the car. It was really scary for me and I couldn’t stop thinking what if my grandfather would die. So I can feel the way Kathleen felt when her mother had carried by the ambulance. I hope no one has like that experience and will not have same experience with me and Kathleen. However, if you face to that situation, I want you to stand with it.

Independent Reading Response #7

I’m still reading “Angels in Pink Kathleen’s Story” written by Lurlene McDaniel. In the story, Kathleen and two of her best friends named Holly and Raina were talking about how’s going with Kathleen and Carson because if Holly and Raina don’t ask about it to Kathleen, she is going to keep things that happened between them as a secret. However, Kathleen believes them so she told them everything that happened.

When I read that part, I was thinking how they could believe each other so strongly. Don’t they want to keep their secrets in their mind? I have best friends too, but I don’t usually tell what happened to me or minds that I have. It doesn’t mean that I don’t trust them but sometimes I feel things that happened to me aren’t their business. If they want to know or care about me, they will ask me what’s wrong with me or what happened to me and so I can tell them everything. However, sometimes I worry what if my best friends betray me and it always makes me don’t want to share my businesses. So I couldn’t understand why Kathleen and two of her friends always talked about secret things each other. I think they can refuse to talk about their secrets.

How about you? Are you the kind of person who always tells about yourself to best friends even if it’s secrets?

BLOG REFLECTION

I would like to continue BLOGGING because it was easy to share my experiences or stories to not only students who’s my partner but also other students or everyone in this world. I got a few comments from students in RIST and Gr.12-1. When I saw it at first time, I felt really exciting so, I want to keep BLOGGING.

On next time, I probably write Independent Reading Response about more what I feel, what I predict, and what I infer etc… because last time, I mostly wrote about my experiences that relate with the book. Writing my experience was fun for me because it was easy to write about and I thought it makes others interest. However to improve my response, I should use every form as I said before.

My response s to my partner wasn’t better than my Independent Reading Response so I should more care about it. My partner’s comments were fun because they gave me their connection of the story and sometimes questioned to me which made me thinker.

6th Independent Reading Response

Corson invited Kathleen to have dinner together including his parents. Kathleen didn’t have good clothes to wear for the dinner, so she asked her friends, Holly and Raina, to borrow their dress. After she borrowed a dress, she had dinner with Corson and his parents. She found out that Carson’s cutie came from both of parents and he has only good part of parents’ face.

When I read this part, I was thinking about Kathleen’s dress that she borrowed from her friend. I didn’t think that they have same body shape and height. However, it’s good for them because they can share every clothes if they need so that they don’t need to buy new one. I like the idea that they have because I can save my money. Sometimes I borrow t-shirt for pajama when I stayed at my friends’ house. Do you do like Kathleen did in the story?
